If anyone had said to me 6 months ago that I (yes me) would be starting my own business, even a little one, I would have laughed & laughed some more, but that is exactly what I have done recently. Blooming Niki has a business bank account (am I really that grown up).
How did that happen I hear you ask (lets just pretend you did to save my embarrassment), as you may be aware 2018 was a very rocky year, both with amazingly happy times but also dappled with heartbreakingly sad and difficult times. During the difficult times I decided that in order help my family I needed reduce my hours drastically at work (who I must say have been totally amazing) in order to help. Obviously with the reduction of hours comes the reduction of wages, which I won’t lie is incredibly scary, but what has come out of this is pretty amazing, not only I am here when & if I am needed by my family, but also my very own (little) business, which in itself is a huge & wonderful surprise.
When I say little business, that’s exactly what it is, but who knows what can happen over the course of year .. I am excited to see. The nature of my Blooming Niki business is doing what I love doing, faffing & taking photos, but this time for a few retailers in & around Ledbury for their social media platforms a few hours a week. Of course these few days also gives me the opportunity to work on my blog and my instagram, which as you know I utterly love, and of course being mum as and when needed.
I’m very excited to see what the future holds for Blooming Niki not quite Limited. It’s funny how when you think times are difficult and things are looking bleak, there are always doors slightly ajar giving you new opportunities, I suppose you just have to look for them.
What I now need to learn is the the art of time management and organising my days so that I can be super productive .. I’m still in the learning process of this, but hopefully with time this will come too, but if you have any tips please let me know, all tips & suggestions are most welcome.
