Sometimes in life you may be lucky enough to have what I like to call “pinch me” moments, opportunities that you thought would never happen, stuff dreams are made of, I have been very lucky and had a few, the most recent one was on Wednesday, the day I was invited to attend a masterclass at the Jo Malone Townhouse in London to celebrate the launch of some of Jo Malones’ classic fragrances which will be available in a new 50ml (very beautiful) bottle. The townhouse is a place that I have seen on Instagram, a place that looks so amazing and magical .. and I was invited there.
I set of fairly early and had a wander around London, taking in all the (insta) sights .. of course there are some places you just can’t not visit & snap about 100 photos of, I then met up with the everso gorgeous Laura of dayinlifeof_laura who I have been chatting to for a long long while, this was the first time we had met, it was like we had known each other forever … we honestly didn’t stop chatting all afternoon it was brilliant.
The time came to head to the townhouse, by this stage I was so excited, you know when you have an image in your head of how a place will be .. well the townhouse was that .. and a whole lot more. The moment I walked through the door I think the only thing I said on repeat for a long while was WOW … WOW … WOW! From the black and white classic tiled floor to the high ceilings and sweeping staircase it really was WOW.
We were shown upstairs where we were greeted with a choice of fizz or a mocktail, I opted for the mock (it was delicious) and then we stepped into the most fabulously styled room, in the middle of the room was a maypole with black and white bunting coming off it, popcorn machine, deck chairs and of course candles and fragrances everywhere, my nose & eyes were in heaven.
We were offered the most fabulously styled sandwiches & I can confirm they were rather delicious too.
We then walked into the adjoining room .. can you guest what I said … yep …. WOOOOOWWWWW!!!
The room was filled with with the most gloriously colourful flowers again candles & fragrance dotted around and the table setting was that of pure dreams and all my styling goals … such attention to every little detail which made it perfect.
It was time to start the masterclass & talk all things scent and fragrance with the help of Emma, Jo Malone Fragrance & Lifestyle Expert, we chatted about our favourite fragrances and what they meant to us and the memories they envoke, how each fragrance is developed and all the notes the make up each scent.
I discovered new fragrances Pomegranate Noir, Lime Basil & Mandarin and Wood Sage & Sea Salt along with my favourites Peony & Blush, English Pear & Freesia and Wild Bluebell all of which are being released in a 50ml bottle and are part of the #declareyourscent campaign to decide which of the 6 fragrances will be the winner.
Also being launched is hair mist in both English Pear & Freesia and a limited addition of Wild Bluebell its a beautifully light mist containing Argan Oil which not only nourishes your hair but obviously makes your hair smell gorgeous too, I of course tried some, its definitely on my “to buy” list along with the Wood Sage & Rock Salt fragrance.
And just like that it was time to go, what a wonderfully fabulous time I had, not only meeting Laura for the first time and definitely not last, but of course spending time at the Jo Malone Townhouse, a feast for the senses and meeting the lovely Jo Malone Team, it really was such a privilege one that I will remember and talk about for a long time to come.
And finally my favourite scent of the classic six has to be Peony & Blush as it was my wedding fragrance, I love wearing for those special occasions. What is your favourite, let me know #declareyourscent.
** I would just like to say a big “Thank you” to everyone who made me feel so welcome at the Jo Malone Townhouse **
*** I was very kindly gifted a 30ml bottle of Pomegranate Noir ***
