Now sunshine & warmth has replaced the wind & rain (although to be fair the rain has made everything look lush) .. it is time to start entertaining & creating that extra room outside .. in other words .. extra faffing .. I know, pure joy!
When JD Williams asked me if I wanted to create a summer style tablescape one perfect for eating al-fresco, I jumped at the chance .. I mean you probably all know by now how much I love creating tablescapes and faffing. JD Williams have a fabulous range of items that are perfect for not only styling your garden .. but also your home .. I mean really what more could you want (insert BIG smiley face here)
So after much umming & ahhhing I selected a few pieces that would not only look fabulous outside but also inside too .. the pieces I chose are from their Wanderlust Collection which has a huge of selection of homeware along a whole heap of stylish clothes.
One of the pieces that has completely changed how the garden feels is the Arch Garden Mirror I hung it on the shed .. its one of those simple pieces that makes such a difference.
I decided on a natural feel to my table so added greens and a mixture of different textures … from the set of three rattan candles & large rattan candle which I must add smell absolutely amazing to adding a few small succulents that I have at home and napkins that I had made from some spare fabric I had (honestly this is as far as my sewing goes .. I mean its four straight-ish corners .. even I can just about cope with that), by adding the recycled wine glasses bought the natural feel together.
I then added the fabulous off white vase as the centre piece .. it truly is a beauty & gives a nice height to the table .. but not so big you can’t see anyone across the table! …
Of course you can never have too many candles .. so I also added the wicker effect lattern .. this is perfect giving that extra bit of flickering light either outside or in your home .. the shadows and movement it creates are so lovely. I also thought that adding a little bit extra to the grass by using the Lisbon jute rug helped to create and soften your “room outside”.
Of course I had to dress up for the occasion .. I mean after all the effort .. and by effort I obviously sheer pleasure in faffing and photographing it .. & JD Williams has a wonderful selection to chose from .. I decided to wear an outfit that goes with my tablescape, netural & stylish (of course 😉 ) .. the Ivory Pleasted Dobby Blouse .. is going to be one of those items that will be worn and worn again .. with sheer sleeves & lined both a the front & back this blouse is for everyday and dressy. The linen mix shorts .. well firstly I love linen … secondly they are a gorgeous colour .. and thirdly they are a fabulous style .. I suppose I could just say .. I love them. Now lets talk sandals .. this is my first foray into the .. how shall I put it “chunky sandal life” .. and there is no turning back .. these leather sport sandals are so comfy .. I love that they not only go so well with this outfit but also dresses .. jeans .. skirts .. they simply are perfect ..
So .. as you can tell I had the absolute best time styling, faffing and photographing this scene and was sad when I had to stop and make dinner !! .. I am so pleased with how the whole look turned out … all the items from JD Williams not only look fabulous and work well outside .. but they also look fabulous in their new home inside .. now could that be a blog for another day.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this .. and perhaps gained a bit of inspiration.
*** it has been a real pleasure and joy working with JD Williams on this project ***
