Afternoon Tea at The Painswick

At the end of November .. I promise I will get better at adding to my blog .. I was lucky enough to be invited to The Painwick in Gloucestershire .. a short car journey from my home .. which is why I cannot believe I have not been there before! .. I have of course seen it on Instagram .. I thought then how gorgeous it looked .. but actually being there was another thing .. it is truly beautiful .. from the soft Cotswold stone to the beautiful scenery and of course the interiors .. it is simply stunning.

I was asked if I wanted to bring a plus one .. I of course thought about inviting Mr W but knew he would not be interested in taking photos of me nor of me taking them … I knew this kind of invite needed a fellow grammer .. someone who totally understood the photographing potential .. as well as appreciating the beautiful surroundings, food and styling .. I was lucky that the truly wonderful Fran (@frillymrst) was indeed very up for an afternoon of all things beautiful.

With it being November we arrived to cosy rooms with roaring fires .. the perfect place to just sit, relax and enjoy a coffee … the views even on a slightly misty kind of day were amazing … and I think in the spring and summer they would be even more spectacular (note to self .. book another afternoon tea) .. afternoon tea was served, and we were lucky to have the Christmas Afternoon Tea featuring a Turkey & Stuffing terrine & Cranberry Sauce, sandwiches (with no crusts .. it is afternoon tea after all), scotch eggs and being of the festive season mince pies .. along with a non-alcoholic fizz and pot of tea .. the word delicious was said an awful lot.

We honestly had the best of times and it was so lovely being able to catch up with Fran who like me is a professional chatter and as previously mentioned was very happy to snap away. There is talk and muttering now of another meet up there .. I’m thinking perhaps in the spring.
