I can’t quite workout whether January flew or whether is was in fact just a little bit slow .. I think looking back (now we’re almost 24 hours into February) it was a mixture .. it zoomed up until that final week .. you know the one that payday lands on and then took about 4 months to get to the end .. but I could say that about every month!
Poor January it gets a lot of bad press .. its basically the (long) Monday of the year .. & is the month most people complain about .. but now February is here I can look back reaslise it really wasn’t so bad after all ..
For a start the weather was pretty amazing .. beautiful frosty mornings.. and some pretty stunning sunsets too … I started walking to work .. OK its actually not far at all & I was being (incredibly) lazy driving there .. and I am surprisingly (I honestly don’t know why I’m surprised .. but I am) enjoying it .. mostly the walking to work is at a faster pace .. maybe even somedays a slight jog! .. than say perhaps the stroll home at lunch .. time always flies when lost in the world of insta in the morning .. but those crisp mornings, lunchtimes and evenings have given me a few minutes to clear my head .. and breathe ..

Of course the love for the humble tulip increases tenfold .. it is a hint and nudge towards that wonder called spring .. I love them .. and love filling my house with them .. from the beautiful whites to the palest of pinks .. they replace the Christmas wreaths and bring that little bit of colour to the home.
We can’t talk about January and not mention new season gorgeousness .. I am not a sales kinda girl .. I’m always drawn to the new season section when out shopping or scrolling on the laptop .. florals & brighter colours start to appear along with shorter sleeves .. although at this point a jumper & coat would needed to accessorise them .. but there is that feeling that now January is over spring days are just around the corner.
So I’d like to say a thank you to January .. you weren’t so bad after all.
Until next year January xx
