The other week having taken Phoebe back to Birmingham, after a particularly difficult weekend (there are ups & downs), I as always had the radio on, mainly as background noise whilst I thought about what had happened & how we can move forward, help with Phoebe’s recovery and what I can learn (if anything) from that weekends visit, a song came on, one that I have heard several times before. I had always loved this song .. it was a happy song, but this time as I sang along I actually listened to the words, it was exactly what I wanted to say to Phoebe .. & as I sang along (loudly & rather out of tune … but totally from my heart) tears rolled down my face .. this song was my song to my daughter ..the song … S Club 7 – “Reach”

It everything I want to say to Phoebe, .. she has come so far & is doing so well, but still has such a long way to go .. it is often difficult for both her, for me and our whole family. But the words in this very simple song are so true. Now whenever I hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes!

I know Phoebe will beat this illness … she will have no limitations & her dreams for her future life will happen … she has already shown how determined she is .. the world is her oyster .. and what a lucky world it is to have my beautiful daughter in it.

Phoebe is truly beautiful … such heart rendering words too. There are always obstacles in our lives and Phoebe will get past this stumbling block and never look back. She’ll be stronger and capable and become exactly who she wants to be. Love and hugs to you all x
