The other weekend when it was super sunny I surprised my mum with a picnic in the form of afternoon tea … when I arrived at mums she’s was relaxing quietly .. of course that soon changed with me there!!!
I have to say that I am very lucky in that I live not to far from mum .. but this was the first time I had seen her for several weeks, of course we’ve used FaceTime which is brilliant .. but not quite the same.
Once I’d set up the picnic it was time to tuck in (at a distance of course) … I am by nature a very chatty person .. & so is my mum .. so as you can imagine there was a huge amount of chat and laughter.
Of course there were sandwiches, along with strawberries and a classic Victoria sponge and in place of proper fizz we had raspberry lemonade .. which was really rather refreshing.
We had such a lovely time .. I can’t wait to do it again .. but maybe next time with the whole family and a lot of hugs.
