Deck the halls ..

Well in my case sitting room, yep Christmas has finally arrived in my home .. yippeee.  We collected our first “real” tree last weekend .. and after a few technical hitches finally managed to get the tree to stand upright .. and not slope to the side … I had wanted to have a wicker skirt around the bottom of the tree .. but the tree really didn’t sit well in it .. to be honest I think I left very much to the last minute and we only seemed to have one choice .. I think next year I will shop early .. and welcome any recommendations you have for good quality tree wicker skirts.

So having finally got the tree to stand it was time to decorate .. and of course you can’t decorate a tree without listening to Christmas songs … enter Mr Buble warbling his heart out.   We decided to buy a small Norwegian spruce as we don’t have a huge amount of space, we placed it on a small table .. I bought a few new baubles this year .. mainly from NEXT but also some from The White Company  .. and they didn’t disappoint, I went for mainly gold and coppers with a few old decorations in the mix.

Over the fire surround I bought a pine cone garland from a local shop and to go with them candle sticks from The White Company (these will be out all year) .. the ones I bought were medium, but I am very tempted to also buy the large .. as they really make a statement (and at the moment they have 40% off)

I am really very happy with our Christmas look, and am now very excited for the big day to arrive … don’t get me wrong I still have a huge amount to still do … but I will get done .. and if I don’t manage to do all the washing / ironing it will still be there for me after Christmas.
