The other weekend I was once again lucky enough to be invited to Jo Malones’ Bath boutique this time to discover their range of home scents, from candles to diffusers to instant effect room spays, Jo Malone will have your home smelling gorgeous in no time at all.
As alway the wonderful team in Bath made me feel at home straight away, offering me drinks and chocolate .. I mean I obviously had to say yes! We then sat down and talked about the ways I like to scent each room at home be is diffuser, candle or spay, for me its always candles, I love the whole process from lighting to seeing the flame flicker and then slowly smelling the scent that fills the room, candles are definitely my bag.
I was given a variety of candles to smell & put each one into a room I could see (or smell) it in, lounge, kitchen, bedroom & bathroom and so on, there were some scents that to me were obvious where to place them, others were a little more difficult. Some scents I hadn’t heard of before such as Green Tomato Leaf such a fresh clean smell and for me kitchen all the way, another surprise was Velvet Rose & Oud which comes in a dark jar this candle is more of an autumnal scent rich and warming which will be going in either my bedroom or lounge perfect for when the nights are drawing in. Going into winter a real surprise scent was Incense & Embers which smelt like log fires and winter days, and great if you want to replicate a wood fire.
I was unaware until then that Jo Malone also have a selection of charity candles and that each candle sold (in the UK), Jo Malone will make a donation equal to 75% of the RRP of £48 which helps to support individuals and families affected by mental health problems through dedicated projects with inspirational charities.
I loved all of them of course, but the one that came back with me was the White Lilac & Rhubarb it is a beautiful floral scent with a slight edge and is perfect in my sitting room, in fact as I type this it is flickering away filling the whole room with its gorgeous fragrance. The latest edition to this collection is the Lily of the Valley & Ivy which has a beautifully delicate fragrance, for me perfect for the bathroom .. whilst having a long hot soak in a bath full of bubbles.
So how do you like to scent your room, are you candle only kinda person or do you like using a variety of ways.? I now have a list as long as my arm with new candles and scents that I’d like to fill my home with.
Niki xx
