For a long while now I have been wanting to revamp our bedroom, it has been white for a couple of years now and although I still like white I also felt I needed a bit of colour and change in the mood of the room, I wanted it be somewhere we felt relaxed and that was a little more grown up, in other words I need to upgrade it from basic to beautiful.
First thing was to choose the paint .. I was originally going to go for a grey wall, but thought it would be too similar to our living room, eventually I decided that pink was the way forward, not a bright barbie pink, although there’s nothing wrong with that .. I just don’t think Mr W would have agreed, but a softer more subtle pink, in the end I opted for Farrow & Ball Cinder Rose which is quite a dusky pink and not at all harsh, the other three walls I went with Wimborne White, again Farrow & Ball its not a harsh bright white, it has a gentle tone to it and compliments Cinder Rose beautifully.
Once the walls were painted it was them time to paint the chest of drawers (which were pink) and my newly claimed bedside table / stool that I rescued from Archie’s bedroom, I thought about painting them in Wimborne White but decided to add a hint of grey by using Elephants Breath again F&B, this again has a gentle tone to it and blends well with both the white & pink walls.
Now was the fun bit accessorising and faffing, I ordered some prints from Desenio that would compliment the room (I have more on order), there is a huge selection to choose from, I also framed a couple of photos to add to the room. Of course candles and flowers (some even picked from my garden!) were added, I love lighting a candle in the evening to make the room smell divine and flowers, well I just love them.
I also tidied up the (tiny) corner of the bedroom where I put on my face & make myself smell amazing for the day ahead & also where it all comes off at night, I had a good sort out and now it looks fabulous … everything to hand and where it should be.
Last but by no means least it was time to revitalise the bed, the linen that we had was old and looking slightly tired, I knew I wanted primarily white (for now) but with a hint of grey to compliment & bring in the grey of the headboard, chest of drawers & bedside stool, Linenbundle had exactly what I needed. It is honestly the best bedlinen I have ever owned, its so super soft and just looks amazing on my bed, I went for the Window Pane design which fits in perfectly.
I am so so pleased with how our bedroom looks and feels now .. and so is Mr W (huge sigh of relief) .. just a change of colour on one wall and a few extra accessories can make such a difference.
