As always with this thing called life and living, things don’t stay the same for long and as it goes there have been changes in my life too, if you follow me on insta you may know some of the changes, but I thought Id type it out as its always good to look back on to see what’s happened .. as quite often you do forget about some of it!
Work wise I am now working full time 8am til 5pm Monday through to Friday, the shorter hours I was doing at the beginning of the year were for a limited time, in order to support my family and be at home should they need me, but as time has passed it is clear that me being at home is not a necessity, so once it was time to reconsider my hours it made sense to go full-time, and the extra money at the end of the each month will come in handy! it is can and sometimes is difficult trying to juggle everything, but I am slowly getting into a routine & trying to organise myself better by making lists and being a bit more structured .. a good start is doing weekly meal plans and food shop online, generally its so far so good.
The children are now on their Easter Holidays and I think are relieved that they have no school for over two weeks! I am really looking forward to the bank holiday weekend, where as it stands the weather is looking pretty amazing. Me and Mr W are off to Bath on Saturday for a mooch and lunch at The Ivy, which I am seriously looking forward to having only ever viewed it from the pavement. I think occasional days out for us is the way to go, its good to have a change of scenery, sometimes we may try and drag the children along … although they are now of age where hanging our with us oldies is super UNcool!
Talking of children being of that age, the other week Phoebe hosted her first party at home, inviting around 50 (yes FIFTY) people, we (oldies) were requested to not be there so we went out for a meal, but to say we were nervous is a absolute understatement, we don’t have a big house by any stretch of the imagination but I have filled it “stuff” so a lot of items were put out of the way in our bedroom. When it was time for me to return home (I tested the waters first) I was shocked at how many people there were in all the rooms (the boys had stayed at home in their bedrooms .. which they were happy about) and in order to get to the boys rooms I had to step over a sea of bodies on the stairs .. it was quite an experience! But even with all those people there was no damage to the house (big sigh of relief), it was only my cactus that suffered as someone had decided to cut the top off .. ?! Will we be repeating this party situation anytime soon .. well for now I think one is quite enough!
On a completely different note I was very lucky and invited to London to meet up with other Boden Ambassadors which I wrote about the other week, days like these are just brilliant, something completely different, a breath of fresh air & a reason to escape that ironing pile!!
Looking into the not to distant future there is the peony and hydrangea season to look forward to …. and of course photograph and flatlay them a lot .. I mean I wouldn’t be insta if I didn’t!
Niki xx
