Up until recently I was a skinny jean only kinda gal who never strayed far from the tight ankle feeling .. or calf if they were cropped, but then one evening I chose a pair of relaxed cargo trousers in a gorgeously rich toffee colour from the fabulous guys at Baukjen .. and my whole world changed .. well ok it wasn’t as dramatic as that really .. but it does sound good!
I was, I will admit slightly worried about how I would feel in trousers that didn’t feel like a second skin and that weren’t a shade of blue denim, but I shouldn’t have worried .. from the moment I tried them on I LOVED them, I of course pranced / strolled / sauntered around the house making sure every member of family was aware of my new find and taking every opportunity to look in every mirror .. tell me I’m not the only one here that does this sort of thing!?
They are so versatile from super casual to being nicely dressy, & I thought what better opportunity to show you how I’ve enjoyed styling them .. and maybe give other skinny jean lovers a new option, so I have put together three ways of styling them.
SUPER CASUAL ..
Who doesn’t have a Breton top in their wardrobe? The relaxed fit of the cargo trousers matches the casual style of the Breton .. wear with trainers & to add an extra bit of colour why not team a bright bag to the look.
STEPPING UP A NOTCH ..
Adding a simple jacket, white shirt and summer sandals changes the whole feel of the cargo trousers, I love that it steps up the whole look but still feels casual.
GETTING DRESSY ….
Last but not least (& possibly my favourite of the three) is the “getting dressy” look for these trousers, its so simple and stylish, paired with a strappy top, smart jacket & heeled sandals you’re ready for an evening out and looking great.
